Zero Build Meta Loadout & Positioning Guide: Dominate the Current Season

With weapon balance shifting each season, the optimal loadout for Zero Build demands a fresh approach. This mode’s lack of defensive building elevates positioning, movement, and weapon versatility to supreme importance. Here’s your guide to crafting the perfect kit and mastering the map to secure that Victory Royale.

The Meta Loadout (Season-Specific)

Your four slots must cover all engagement ranges and scenarios. The current season’s balance favors a reliable, flexible arsenal.

  1. Primary: Assault Rifle / Hybrid Scar. The cornerstone of your loadout. With bloom controlled and mid-range damage consistent, a rifle like the Nemesis AR or Striker AR is non-negotiable. Use it for poking, pressuring, and medium-distance duels.
  2. Secondary: Close-Quarter Dominator. You must win your 1v1s. The current meta heavily favors the Auto Shotgun for its forgiving fire rate and strong burst damage. The Hammer Pump remains lethal for precise players, but the margin for error is slimmer.
  3. Utility Slot: Mobility is Mandatory. In Zero Build, you cannot create cover. Therefore, you must carry it or use tools to reposition. Grapple Blades are the S-tier choice, offering offensive pushes and life-saving escapes. The Shockwave Grenade is a brilliant alternative for instant repositioning or environmental kills.
  4. Flex Slot: Adapt to the Circle. This final slot is situational. Prioritize Heavy Sniper Rifles for long-range picks if you’re confident. If the final circles are in open fields, Cluster Clingers or EMPs can flush out campers. Always carry Mini Shield Potions here if you lack sufficient heals.

Positioning Philosophy: Control, Don’t Camp

Without builds, high ground is a gift, not a guarantee. Your positioning strategy should follow these rules:

  • Early/Mid-Game: Rotate early using vehicles or natural cover (hills, rocks, structures). Loot efficiently, then prioritize controlling the outer ring of the circle. Avoid the center until late-game, as you become a target from all angles.
  • Late-Game (Moving Circles): Never be in the dead center of the new circle. Position yourself on the edge closest to the current safe zone’s center. This “soft edge” protects your back and allows you to gatekeep players rotating in.
